With a special support from Panasonic Corporation and its brand, LUMIX, Japanese fine-art photography magazine IMA has been organizing the exhibition annually since 2013 to support and develop young talented artists who will light the way for the future of Japanese fine-art photography. This is going to be our fourth exhibit with venues in Amsterdam, Paris and Tokyo. It will also be open to the public in other forms.
The exhibition will feature six of Japan’s up-and-coming photographers selected by IMA magazine. Three photographers, Kanako Azuma who applies her unique view of the world to her moving images to tell stories, Fumi Ishino who focuses on life within contemporary society with humor and a global perspective, and Naohiro Utagawa who creates still life infused with elements of improvisation, will show new works created especially for this exhibition using Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GX8 cameras. Other photographers, including Hideyuki Ishibashi, Harumi Shimizu and Yutaka Komase, will take your mind beyond the two dimensional representation. This is an exhibition you will surely enjoy the wealth of young artistic talent which invites us into a bold new world, with each photographer’s work showing their individual approach to their subjects.
Kanako Azuma, Fumi Ishino, Hideyuki Ishibashi, Naohiro Utagawa and Harumi Shimizu are at the gallery at 3-5pm on 24 September.
